What is the concept Pecera?

Pecera is a collection of robot fish called Dofi, cleaning your clothes in a water tank without detergent. This sustainable way of washing clothes is inspired by doctor fish who nurture human skin, except these busy fishes run on hydroelectric power and clean garments. The robotic fish detects the dirt in the clothes by using the tiny camera in each fish. The cleaning is made by a suction motion by the robot fish against the dirt particles. Washing without detergent makes this washing method suitable for the most sensitive and creates no need for multiple washing circles using water. The first layer spin-dries and drains off the water from clothes.

What was the inspiration behind your concept?

I thought about washing machine design that is a user-friendly and sustainable by washing the clothes clean without any detergent use.

‘Doctor Fish’ that makes the skin clean and well by feeding on dead skin cells or the affected area rushed into my mind.

I designed a washing machine aquarium ‘Pecera’and Doctor Fish robot ‘Dofi’ that eats dirt away from clothes, and cleans them without using detergent, which makes the whole society clean and healthy and people as well who wear the clothes.

How do you think your concept will change peoples’ lives?

While there is a concern for oxidation and discoloration of fiber when using detergent, the eco-friendly way of washing using the alkaline liquid jelly prevents oxidation and discoloration of fiber, freeing consumers from worry over damage of textiles.

If it is used not only in one home but also all around the society, there will be less contamination of nature caused by detergent and people will be able to maintain water quality. Further, it makes healthy society.

Interesting improvement since Stage 1 and how you have suggested the laundry process can be done even in the livingroom, next to all the other activities at home. Can you develop the consumer experience a bit, how is the laundry perceived as clean (smells, texture) after the washing process? Unlike the conventional washing machines, its modern design allows the consumer to put the machine anywhere in their house and get the tasteful interior effect. It obtained its design motif from the pond and nature so the consumers can feel the nature and the lake, when they come home. Pecera is devided into 2 layers and will wash the clothes by only two steps: washing and spin-drying.

1. Washing. – The first layer from the middle, Dofi washes the clothes by eating the dirt inside the clothes.

2. movement. – Water and Dofi in Pecera move to first layer and second layer respectively in the process of dehydration.

3. Spin-Drying. – After the washing is over, the laundry will be moved to the 2nd layer in the outside, and Dofi will purify the water. 1st layer in the middle will spin dry the clothes in this moment.

4. antibacterial. – When water and Dofi move to the second layer after washing, the first layer, doing the spin-dry, cracks and vaporizes odor particles of fiber using the Oxygen clusters(O2-,O4-,O6-,O8-) steam to eliminate the cause substance of odor and make the delicate fragrance from the cloth ,which definitely helps consumers who wear the clothes feel better.

1. Doctor Fish robot ‘Dofi’ inside Pecera is a mouth that shaped like sucker. It obtained its motif from the shape that eats people’s dead skin cell effectively. The mouth part of ‘Dofi’, When the jelly contacts the fiber, it loosens the coherence between the fiber and dirt on the clothes by surface activity to split, feed on, and absorb dirt. It removes the dirt very effectively.

2. It checks the clothes and dirt using the camera installed at the front and flies at them.
