In the next stage can you eplain a bit more on the action of the aloe cells in terms of air cleaning capacity as well as explaining how the cell activity is maintained since it requires nutrition and water. Actually, Cellular Pillow satisfies urbanite's demands indeed. It not only brings healthy to individuals, but also makes a fresh sense of nature.

According to my subsequent investigation, I understand more than 90% of the families desire to get closer to the nature at holidays, whereas, in fact, only less than 30% of the families can usually travel to the outskirts, due to the tremendous working pressure. In addition, some individuals would like to take greeneries into their room in order to beautify the environment and decontaminate the air, while others prefer some appliances such as air cleaners. Although people's selections are different, all of them desire to get closer to the nature, and they always attempt to seek some natural low energy consumption appliances in markets to improve the quality of air in their room. Actually, as product designers, we are the consumers as well, and might we think not so?

In daily life, I consider none of the commodities are nearer than the pillow. To be more precise, we cannot part from sleep, and when we sleep, we cannot do without the pillow, so it is our best friend in our entire life. Nevertheless, the bad gesture of sleeping or some bad habits of covering quilt may lead to the increase of density of carbon dioxide, which would make us get bad breath during our sleep. Moreover, some harmful gas such as formaldehyde and the bacteria in the pillow are the main reason of jeopardising our health as well. These things may make our bedroom become an invisible hell. Therefore, an increasing number of consumers begin to concern about the air quality, when they sleep.

I think the air cleaner in the future necessitates to make users feel like being in the embrace of nature during our sleep, so I intend to combine the plant characteristics with the pillow in order to contribute to people's sleep quality, which means when people sleep or have a rest, the product can supply the beneficial oxygen and anions, and meanwhile absorb harmful gas and getting rid of bacteria. At the aspect of appearance, I adopt the streamlined form that fit the ergonomics to make it more comfortable to pillow or lean. As for the superficial material selection, I choose the advanced artificial soft plant epidermis in order to make the Cellular Pillow reach the comfort level as same as the conventional pillow. I believe the Cellular Pillow that combines with the fresh colour and unique appearance, in particular, the respiration will catch numerous consumers' eyes intensively.

In addition, because there is a smaller size, apart from using it, when we sleep, we can also put it on the vehicle seats, sofas, chairs and so on for rest, just like cushions, so it can satisfy people's demands in various occasions. In daily life, its respiration needs the carbon dioxide from us, and we also need the oxygen, the anion and the function of decontamination from it. Besides, its fresh appearance and colour can also green our environment. I dare say the Cellular Pillow will become a requisite product in our future life. Of course, it definitely fits the theme-- Natural Air.

In the visual development stage you can further develop the visual appeal of the product in relation to design, shape, colors and material. Sleep is one of the most vital parts of our life and an increasing number of people are concerned about the air quality when we sleep. In general, the air quality of our bedroom may become ever more terrible, due to carbon dioxide, bacteria, formaldehyde, etc, which could threaten our health. However, the conventional pillow, as the nearest object when we breathe, may usually be full of bacteria and affect our normal breathing. The Cellular Pillow is made up of aloe cells, which can be used to absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen and anions, as well as get rid of bacteria and break down harmful gas. Thus it brings fresh air during our sleep, just like we are sleeping in the forest.

All of the aloe cells which involve the Barbloin, PEP, Distinctive Proteins, Electron are in the cell containers.

Barbloin: The barbloin in the cells can break down the microbes in air.

PEP: The PEP is a special chemical in CAM Plant, which can be used to store and fix carbon dioxide and to help CAM Plant photosynthesize and release oxygen.

Distinctive Proteins: The aloe cells can identify the special gas, and then release the Distinctive Proteins to assimilate and break down the harmful gas.

Electron: The electrons which are introduced into the cells via the plant photosynthesis form to the photoemission, which ionizes the air so as to produce the anion.

The Cellular Pillow is made up of cell containers, the layer of nutrient liquid and the battery of piezoelectric technology.

We would like to know more about the functionality from a user perspective, how to build the interaction with consumers on a daily basis and how would you develop the design and visual expression of the concept on the basis of consumer insight.

Functionality details

As an air cleaner and pillow which combine with the biological technology, the Cellular Pillow can contaminate air in room more efficient and natural, because it is closer to consumers.

In fact, the main composition of Cellular Pillow is aloe cells, which are mainly made up of Barbloin, PEP, Distinctive Proteins and so on. To be more precise, the Barbloin in the cell can break down the microbes in air. And the PEP is a special chemical in CAM Plant, which can be used to store and fix carbon dioxide and to help CAM Plant photosynthesize and release oxygen. The Distinctive Proteins can assimilate and break down the harmful gas.

In addition, the extracted cells can be cultivated in the cell containers, and the cells can be maintained by nutrient solution which is made up of Indole-3-acetic Acid, Murashige and Skoog Medium, water, etc. In general, the nutrient solution can be used for long time, because the aloe cells merely need a little nutrient. And if the nutrient solution is exhausted, we can also change the nutrient solution. This part of technology is related to the technology of plant cells culture. As for the cells container, it adopts the technology of plant tissue culture. After the dedifferentiation of plan cells, the plant cells will form to the callus, which can compound with artificial nanofibers to produce the artificial soft plant epidermis, which also has the original characteristic of plant epidermis such as cilium, stoma, etc.

Why do you closed the submission channel before the deadline?

I read the email carefully, and it wrote the deadline is 5th June, 23:59 CET, which means I can submit my work before this time, but at 5th June 3:00 a.m CET, the submission channel has been closed that I cannot submit any things of my work. And 2 hours ago, I also received an email that told me I only have one day to submit my work, but now it was closed. Please check the problem,and return me as soon as possible. The cultivation of the aloe cells in the Cellular Pillow and the clean of the product.

As an air cleaner which combines with the biological technology, the Cellular Pillow has the natural characteristic of plant, and the survival of cells in it is relevant to the technology of plant cells culture. In fact, after the plant cells depart from the main body, they necessitate the special environment and nutrient for survival, so the cells container is very crucial, and it adopts the technology of plant tissue culture. After the dedifferentiation of plan cells, the plant cells will form to the callus, which can be used to artificially synthesise to the semi-artificial and semi-natural material which also has the original characteristic of plant epidermis such as cilium, stoma, etc. And we can also call it –Artificial soft plant epidermis.

As for the approaches of plant cells survival in the product, firstly, we can extract the aloe cells, and then put them into the cells container; the cells will remain the vitality owing to the nourishment of nutrient fluid, which can also make the extracted cells divide rapidly; meanwhile, the photosynthesis and the respiration can promote metabolism as well so as to make the aloe cells survive in the cells container (artificial soft plant epidermis) permanently. And the nutrient fluid was synthesised by Indole-3-acetic Acid, Murashige and Skoog Medium and so on. In daily use, we just need to make it contact with the sunshine and carbon dioxide, and in the aspect of cleaning, we can simply use water to wash the surface of product in order to keep it sanitary.

About me, about my design, about my inspiration

Today, I will introduce myself, my design.

Since I was a sophomore, I had done design works with my girlfriend, and now she becomes my wife, and we still collaborate with each other. Actually, at the begin of my undergraduate study, my major was animation, but after a year, I fell in love with the major of industrial design. I cannot describe the reason clearly. I just love it extremely. Now, turn to my design work.

For part of the products, I prefer to use skin texture and natural form to present the function of the products, which give us sensory pleasure. I also propose designing products in a simple and graceful natural form, which not only conforms more to the human engineering, but also endows people with psychological and touching sense comfort. In addition, I would like to emphasis on the relation between products and customers. And I think a good product should interact with users so as to create a sense of dependence between the products and users. Thus I always conceive a project from a user’s perspective, and I need to know what consumers really want.
The Cellular Pillow may build a kind of relationship, which means users cannot part with it when they stay at home; it gives people health, a fresh sense of nature; it may become a companion of people, and when they have a rest, they would like to use it, because of its function, appearance, colour and comfort. You can imagine that if the product produced after several years, it would be a dream come true for many many people. At that time, there is no conventional electronic air cleaner, and we can get closer to nature just on beds, sofas, chairs, etc. What’s a nice prospect!

At present, with the enlargement of cities and the increase of industrial pollution, a majority of people confront a variety of environmental problems. In particular, the pollution in cities, it has eroded our life quality and made our life fall into ruin, and apparently, we has been used to living in this kind of environment gradually. What is a terrible thing of that! At the same time, getting close to nature also becomes a type of extravagant hope. Nevertheless, there are a part of people who are looking forward to break away from this predicament, so am I.
